I have a colour code from Jotun that I want my furniture painted in, but it is not a standardized NCS code. What should I do?

Answer: Many paint manufacturers do not always use the standardized colours, but instead mix their own colour shades and mixtures that are analysed and coded with an NCS code, such as 1357-Y93R. Mixtures of this type are thus something the paint manufacturer has made itself, and the NCS code lacks an S in front of the first four digits. S in front of the numbers indicates that the code is standardized, and is part of the Second Edition, 1950 standardized codes.

Many of the colours with and without S can be quite similar, but in some cases there are significant differences. Our painters cannot use codes that are missing an S in front of the first four numbers. The paint manufacturer should be able to help you find the nearest standardized NCS code if you need it.

What is the difference between composite and Silestone?

Answer:Minore and Shape, washbasins and worktops, are made of acrylic-based composite, an aluminium hydrate as a "filler", and a binder.  Composite requires maintenance, refer to our care and maintenance instructions:

Silestone Unique, washbasins and worktops, are made of quartz composite, which is a stone material and a binder. Silestone consists of at least 90% quartz. It is very user-friendly in terms of maintenance, and it is also resistant to acids and scratching. You will find care and maintenance instructions for Silestone here:

What is the difference between marble and porcelain?

Answer:Marble washbasins are made of a mineral powder, polyester and binder. The washbasins are cast in closed moulds and surface-treated with a clear gel-coat. Marble is often straighter in its lines than porcelain, but requires more maintenance.

The porcelain consists of real sanitary porcelain, which is a strong ceramic material with glaze. When the washbasin is fired at 1,220 degrees, the glaze melts to form a hard, smooth and shiny surface that is easy to keep clean. As a result of the firing, the porcelain will never be completely straight, and there are also tolerance measurements for the porcelain. These tolerance measurements are listed in the price lists in our catalogues.

How do I remove stains from marble and composite?

Answer:Stains on the surface can in most cases be removed with a so-called Nano-sponge/magic sponge. This applies to both marble and composite.

Limescale deposits can be reduced by cleaning the washbasin frequently. If there is scratches in the marble, you can polish the sink with a fine polish and finish the washbasin with wax, for example car wax.

If there are scratches and small notches in a composite sink, it can be sanded with fine sandpaper, grain 1000 or a sanding sponge. If the treated area appears shiny after sanding, it can be sanded with grain 800, followed by grain 600 and finally finish with a soft, dry cloth. Always start with grain 1000.

I would like to buy lamps separately and use them on other mirrors, is that OK?

Answer:Our LED lamps with light control do not match other suppliers' mirrors or mirror cabinets. Our lamps depend on the electronics/driver and the touch panel we use on our mirrors and mirror cabinets.

The LED lamps from Mido, Libra and Vela can be purchased separately. They should be connected to 230V and do not need a driver. These lamps cannot be dimmed.
